This is a commonly used DC motor driver module, using 293D chip small current DC motor driver chip. Pins are made to be compatible and to facilitate rapid based development by hobbyists.
* 2 5V servo motor (steering gear) ports connected to Arduin high resolution and high precision timer - no jitter!
* Up to 4 bidirectional DC motors and 4 channels PWM speed control (about 0.5% resolution)
* Up to 2 stepper motors for forward and reverse control, single/double step control, staggered or micro-step and rotation Angle control.
* 4-channel H-bridge: L293D chip provides 0.6A (peak 1.2A) current per bridge with thermal power off protection, 4.5V to 36V.
* The pull-down resistor ensures that the motor stays stopped when it is powered on.
* Large terminal terminals make wiring easier (10-22 AWG) and power.
* With Arduino reset button.
* 2 large terminal external power terminals ensure separation of logic and motor drive power.
* Compatible with Mega, Diecimila, & Duemilanove.

Disadvantages: High I/O occupancy, low power when driving four motors at the same time (compared to the version with less Arduin I/O).
